Terms of use
Last updated 12 September 2026
src/lib/legal.ts and have the wording approved before relying on it. This notice removes itself once no placeholder details remain.These terms govern your use of BookInn, reservation software operated by [Registered legal entity] (company number [Company number]), registered at [Registered office address]. By creating an account, or by booking a table through a restaurant’s BookInn page, you accept them.
Who you are contracting with
BookInn is used by two kinds of people, and the relationship differs for each.
- Restaurants subscribe to BookInn and contract with [Registered legal entity] directly. These terms, together with the plan you selected, form that agreement.
- Guests use BookInn to book a table. Your booking is an arrangement with the restaurant, not with us. We pass the booking on, hold the record and send the confirmation; the restaurant honours the table.
Accounts
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done by staff you invite to it. Keep your credentials to yourself, choose a password you use nowhere else, and tell us at [legal@your-domain] if you believe an account has been reached by someone who should not have it.
Accounts are for the restaurant and the people working in it. Do not share a single login across a team when you can invite each person with their own.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- book tables you do not intend to take, or place bookings in another person’s name;
- use the service to send unsolicited marketing to guests;
- attempt to reach data belonging to another restaurant, or to probe, scan or load-test the service without our written agreement;
- copy, resell or rebrand the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to use, into a venue page.
Bookings, cancellations and no-shows
Each restaurant sets its own cancellation policy, party-size limits and how far ahead it takes bookings; those rules are shown on its booking page and apply to your reservation. Any deposit, charge or no-show fee is a matter between you and the restaurant. We do not take payment for a meal.
A booking is confirmed when you receive a reference. A table is not held before that, however far through the flow you have gone.
Fees and billing
Subscription fees, the billing period and what a plan includes are shown when you subscribe and in your billing settings. Fees are charged in advance and are [state whether refundable]. We may change pricing on [notice period] notice; a change takes effect at your next renewal, and you may cancel before it does.
Your content
Your restaurant’s details, floor plan, guest records and booking history remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to host and display them in order to run the service for you. You can export your data, and we will delete it on request, as described in the Privacy and Cookies Statement.
Availability and changes
We work to keep BookInn available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change or withdraw features; where a change materially reduces what a paid plan offers, we will tell you first. Planned maintenance is announced in advance wherever it can be.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost business or lost goodwill, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. [Confirm cap and carve-outs with counsel.]
Ending your use
You may cancel at any time from your billing settings; the subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will say why unless we are prevented from doing so. Your data is available for export for [retention window] after closure.
Changes to these terms
We will post any change here and update the date at the top. Where a change is material we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use BookInn after that date means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of [Jurisdiction], and the courts of [Jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
